OURSELVES AS OTHERS SEE US

OURSELVES AS OTHERS SEE US

A keynote speaker at this week’s Diocesan Synod in Cologne was the Bishop of Antwerp, Monsignor Johan Bonny who offered a new insight into recent developments between the Roman Catholic and Anglican churches.

Taking his theme of “Unity in Diversity” Bishop Bonny told of his delight at recent comments from Pope Francis and the shared pilgrimage from Canterbury to Rome last Autumn.

His hour-long address included a study of Martin Luther’s protest against Rome which, the Bishop said, might not have happened in the same way had Luther come from a Mediterranean relaxed viewpoint.
