LICENSED AND INSTALLED - A TALE OF TWO ARCHDEACONS

On the Feast day of St Peter and St Paul, in the Pro-Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in Brussels, Canon Adele Kelham was formally licensed by the Bishop and Diocesan Registrar for her duties as Acting Archdeacon of Switzerland which she officially takes up on 14 July.

At the same Eucharist the Venerable Colin Williams was placed in his Canon’s stall in the Cathedral, appropriately the stall of St Willibrord who is one of Northern Europe’s best known saints. He was the first Bishop of Utrecht and died at Echternach in Luxembourg.

Colin, who is Archdeacon of the East with Germany and Northern Europe, and Adele who has been serving as Chaplain in Lausanne, were in Brussels as part of a meeting of the Bishop’s senior staff.
