BISHOP ROBERT VISITS CALAIS AND PLEDGES MIGRANT SUPPORT

Bishop Robert has been visiting the site of the recently demolished “Jungle” which housed migrants and where some, including youngsters are still there, hoping to gain access to Britain.

The Bishop, accompanied by Archdeacon of France, Meurig Williams, spoke about the emotional effect of his visit and the sense of being surrounded everywhere by fences. (see pic below)

The Bishop and Archdeacon met members of the small but dedicated congregation in Calais (pic 2 below) and pledged to assist in the scheme to appoint a full-time project coordinator/chaplain to work with refugees. He also asks for prayer support for the continuing ministry to refugees and migrants in Northern France.
