HANDING OVER CHURCH AUTHORITY IN MALAGA

Archdeacon Geoff Johnston writes; "I was in the Malaga chaplaincy on 30 April and renewed the licence of Rev Doreen Cage to serve her ministry there and to swear in the two Churchwardens. The formal ceremonies took place in the Chapel in Velez-Malaga where one of the congregations in the Malaga chaplalncy meets each Sunday morning. This congregation has seen some real growth in recent years.

"The custom is that after the service all the members of congregation go next door to the cafe where the manager, Carmen, always makes them welcome. This particular Sunday was a sad day because it was Carmen's last day there, and to m ark then occasion church members presented her with a gift and some flowers."
