A St Peter's tide to remember

St Peter’s Day is traditionally celebrated on Friday 29 June and during the two following days the Petertide ordinations will be taking place in the Diocese.

On Saturday 30 June Rev Nigel Thomas (pictured above) who has been serving as a Deacon in St George’s, Madrid will be priested by Bishop Geoffrey.

A thousand miles or so to the North, in Norwich Cathedral Rev Jennifer Elliott de Riverol (who serves as Assistant Curate of All Saints Tenerife with St Martin de Porres, on the Canaries island of  La Palma will also be ordained Priest.

The following day (Sunday 1 July) Bishop David Hamid will ordain two new Deacons at All Saints Rome. Mrs Dana English and Dr Mary Styles will both serve as Assistant Curates in that church.

Bishop Geoffrey will be in St George’s Lisbon on Sunday 1 July to ordain Ms Verna Verity who has been a member of that congregation. Verna will then be serving as a Deacon at St Paul’s Athens and her new Chaplain, Canon Malcolm Bradshaw, will be travelling from Greece to preach at that ordination service.

Please pray for these five candidates who are taking great steps of faith to follow their call from God. Look out for pictures and reports on this website after the services.
