NEW DIOCESAN TEAM ELECTED TO GENERAL SYNOD

Six new members of General Synod have been elected in the Diocese in Europe.

Two former members have been re-elected, Canon Debbie Flach in the House of Clergy and Mrs Madeleine Holmes for the Laity.

Because of recent legislative changes, both clergy and lay houses each have 3 members, where previously there were two.

The four new members elected are Canon Giles Williams from Cannes in France and Rev Tuomas Mäkipää from Helsinki in the clergy, with David Coulston from Mallorca (Spain) and Tjeerd Bijl joining the lay delegates.

The new members are due to attend the formal opening and inauguration of the new Synod by The Queen on Tuesday 24 November 2015
