A first for the Diocese in Europe

The commissioning of the Bishop of Gibraltar in Europe took place in the context of a Eucharist on Thursday, 18 October in St Margaret's Church Westminster. The usual practice has been to commission diocesan bishops in the chapel at Lambeth Palace before they are enthroned in their cathedral.

Almost 600 people were present including 34 bishops and several representatives of other Churches.
