Diocese in Europe

Advice for diocesan clergy, readers and church officers

The Bishop's Staff Meeting and the Diocesan Synod have, for some years, encouraged stable and sustained priestly ministry by chaplains and priests-in-charge. However, the turn-over of diocesan clergy remains high, and the unusual structure of the Diocese therefore gives rise to many questions. The Diocesan Handbook provides a great deal of detailed advice on many different subjects. All the diocesan clergy are encouraged to become familiar with it. However, since the Handbook deals with topics in some depth, this list has been compiled to give to the clergy, readers and church officers a quick reference list of who to contact with a query.

Contacts given here are either a 'first port of call' or the person officially responsible. The Diocesan Secretary, Assistant Diocesan Secretary or the Bishop's Chaplain can easily direct telephone or email queries to the appropriate person. But, where a reference to the Diocesan Handbook is given, please read the relevant text before contacting the person listed here. The Diocesan Handbook is available on the diocesan website.
Routine queries should not be directed to the bishops or their personal staff, except where specified here or where queries touch on their personal ministries.
Email contact details can be found in the Diocesan Yearbook and on the Diocesan website.
