Diocesan Calendar and Prayer Diary
January 2008 – June 2008
Download the latest calendar in MS
Word format
The Diocese is united in daily prayer and worship and this is a basis of
our common life and mission. Mutual prayer and support must surely be very high
on our agenda and this publication is offered only as a guide and may certainly
be supplemented by other lists.
Information regarding
Chaplaincies is as shown as in the 2007 Year Book.
Calendar
The Liturgical Calendar is that shown in Common Worship. Lesser Festivals
and commemorations may be observed according to local custom. Some particular
commemorations have been added which are of significance in various parts of
the Diocese.
The Daily Eucharistic Lectionary week (DEL) is noted each Monday.
Key to type-face :
Sundays and Festivals
Lesser Festivals
Commemorations
Daily Prayer
Information is given to allow for each chaplaincy and congregation in the
diocese to be remembered as well as the nations and our ecumenical links.
The daily requests of the Anglican Cycle of Prayer and the weekly
requests from the Porvoo Cycle (marked **) are also included. Both are
available on the internet and from Church House Bookshop, Great Smith St, London
SW1P 3NZ.
SUNDAY INTERCESSIONS should, by tradition, include prayer for Bishop
Geoffrey and the local head of State by name. In addition, prayers may also include Bishop David (the Suffragan Bishop) and, among the heads of other
states, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the leaders of those other countries
whose citizens may belong to the congregation.
