Lessons In Bible Hospitality

At the start of the first full day of Diocesan Synod delegates and visitors were well prepared for a packed agenda of reports and items to consider, with the first of 3 Bible Studies from Genesis, where the experience of Abraham offers an insight into hospitality and our attitude to migrants and immigration.

Dr Meg Warner explained the background to Middle Easter hospitality as Abraham would have known it, although in the story he clearly did not know that he had "entertained angels unawares!"

Later presentations included an explanation of the work of the diocese's Ministry Division, with members of the Ministry team, under Bishop David's leadership, explaining trends and changes in pattern of ordained and lay ministry.

The morning ended with a review of diocesan communications and the opportunities and challenged they offered.   (Picture below is of the Ministry team during the presentation)
