Walking Together In Faith And Look Lively

In one of the liveliest sessions of Diocesan Synod being held all this week in Cologne, members were challenged to an interactive session considering practical ways of taking forward the diocesan strategy; "Walking together in faith".

The group was kept busy by Natalie Jones and Rev Stephen Murray who encouraged verbal participation (pantomime style!) to get over the main five focal points

  • Building up the body of Christ
  • Sharing in the evangelisation of Europe
  • Striving for a just and sustainable world
  • Working for reconciliation
  • Resourcing ministry

The workgroups were encouraged by a short Bible passage, a series of video clips reporting how our strategy is already seen in action, and a discussion of ideas and experience of projects and ambitions which worked and the problems or difficulties in getting things moving in churches.

At the end of the session the flip chart lists of ideas were posted for Synod delegates to continue sharing ideas.  The strategy will be further developed before being presented at Bishop's Council in October.
