21st March marked the first day of Spring when it is said the sap begins to flow and the passions are stirred. Let us hope that church members and officials are stirred to attend their local Annual Church Meeting where new officers are elected and the chaplaincy prepares for a new year with vision and enthusiasm.

To help preparation for the meeting and its smooth running the Church Representation Rules are a vital tool for all those involved in parochial, diocesan and national Church governance. In particular, the Rules govern the preparation of the church electoral roll, the conduct of annual parochial church meetings, and the membership and election of PCCs, deanery synods and diocesan Synods.

You can access them online via the Church of England website and this link:

There is also a series of new or amended forms for church meetings and Church Council use, including the need for a "fit and proper person". Please do not rely on old versions of the relevant forms.

The 2017 updated version can also be purchased as a book or EPUB eBook from Church House Publishing using this link. A Kindle edition can be purchased from Amazon.
