Although staff at the Diocesan Office in Westminster are working as normal today they report a continuing sense of shock after the terror attack on the Palace of Westminster yesterday (22nd March 2017). Deacon Frances Hiller writes:

"In the aftermath of yesterday’s Westminster attack, today there are many roads closed, helicopters constantly overhead, police everywhere, and a lot of journalists. I took part in a short interview for Irish radio where I explained that Londoners do not give in to terror. Westminster Abbey is closed to tourists today but open to anyone who wishes to go there to pray, or simply sit.

"We have very much appreciated the concern shared by many across the diocese, who have been in touch by phone and email.  It really does make us feel that we are part of one big family. We continue to hold in our prayers the injured, the bereaved, and those who have been traumatised by this appalling incident".
