Bishop David and Father Jonathan Boardman, Chaplain of All Saints in Rome have had a busy couple of days doing the rounds of radio and television interviews about the forthcoming visit by the Pope to All Saints church on Sunday 26th February.

He will be the first pontiff to set foot inside an Anglican church in his own diocese as the Bishop of Rome.

The Holy Father will join the All Saints’ congregation for a short Choral Evensong service including the blessing of a specially commissioned icon and the twinning of All Saints with the Catholic parish of Ognissanti, a Rome church with strong ecumenical ties.

The landmark event is part of the 200th anniversary celebrations for All Saints which began with a small group of worshippers holding the first Church of England liturgy in 1816.
