CATCHING THE FLAVOUR OF 2016 IN SPAIN

Congregation members from St Andrew’s Chaplaincy on the Costa del Sol East in southern Spain have enjoyed a weekend capturing and celebrating two major events of 2016.

They marked the Queen’s 90th birthday in majestic style with a flying visit from Her Majesty (played by Joan Franklyn, who made a passable stand-in!) to officially open the evening with its wine, buffet and entertainment.

The following day young members of “The Mustard Seed Gang” met in  Alhaurin El  Grande to recall the thrills of the Olympic Games. Father John and Churchwarden Jen Sutton put the group through their athletic paces with a rendition of a catchy song “Ready Steady Go” and afterwards presented medals at an award ceremony.
