Holy Trinity church on the island of Corfu was packed in early July for a special service for the Admission and Licensing of Jackie Dallos as Reader in Corfu and Lefkada. Ven Colin Williams, The Archdeacon of Eastern Europe, Germany and Northern Europe, had flown to Corfu from Athens, after a service of induction for a new Canon in St Paul’s.

Jackie’s licensing marked the end of a long process of prayer, discernment and study which she began shortly before the first Readers’ Conference in 2012. She had recently shared in the second Conference in May.

At the service, in addition to a number of visitors on holiday were friends and family of Jackie from Lefkada and former chaplain Clifford Owen and his wife Avis from UK to support her on this special occasion.

In his sermon Archdeacon Colin encouraged us everyone to continue working for the kingdom of God. “It can’t be left to those set aside for special ministry to do all the work. We all have responsibility to show Jesus to friends and family seven days a week”.

Our prayers for Jackie as she begins her new phase of ministry in her local congregation.
