Canon Elaine Labourel appointed to Anglican Communion body

Many congratulations to Canon Elaine Labourel, who has been appointed by the Archbhishop of Canterbury and the Secretary General of the Anglican Communion to serve on one of its leading ecumenial committees.

A member of our Diocesan Ministry Team and Director of Reader Ministry, Elaine has been asked to serve on  the International Reformed-Anglican Dialogue (IRAD).

As part of its ecumenical vocation, the Anglican Communion engages in official ecumenical dialogues with other Christian world communions. IRAD is exploring the nature of Communion (koinonia).

"Elaine's appointment recognises her theological and ecumenical expertise," says Bishop David. "It also underlines the important part that this diocese plays in being the shop window of Anglicanism for many other Christians in Europe. Of the 165 countries where the Anglican Communion is present, 40 are in this diocese," he says.
