Neapolitan Jubilee Street Party

After the excitement of the 2012 Olympics it is good to report that around our churches in Europe celebrations continue throughout the year for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

Viv Vertefeuille, Church Warden of Christ Church Naples in Southern Italy sent the pictures and says “As you can see a good time was had by all.  What a fabulous day at Christ Church and the Jubilee spirit found us all (whatever our nationality!).  The courtyard behind church was just the place to host our street party and it was decorated by huge, marvellous banners, supplied by Michael Rae.  We had food fit for a Queen, including two cakes decorated with the Union flag. There was a quiz with photos of Royal events and other events taking place at the same time which had to be correctly matched.  The “best hat” competition was judged by Father Kingsley Joyce, Chaplain in Naples, and his final decision was that all hats won first prize!
