Delegates Head For Cologne Diocesan Synod

Clergy and Lay members of the Diocese in Europe’s annual Synod meet in Cologne from Monday 2 June until Friday 6 June 2014. The Dean, Archdeacons and representatives from the seven Archdeaconries which make up the Diocese are familiar with the location which has hosted the event in recent years at Kardinal Schulte Haus on the outskirts of the city.

This year’s Synod is chaired by Bishop David, who still has episcopal legal responsibility until the consecration and licensing of the bishop designate Canon Robert Innes in July.

The programme is, as usual, a mix of spiritual – with worship and Bible Studies (led by Rev Dr John Muddiman), information and discussion – this year including topics such as Safeguarding, Trafficking, Migration and Refugees in Europe, Faith and Bio-ethics and Anglican/Roman Catholic relationships.

The programme can be found here SYNOD PROG

Look out for regular reports and information on the website from Monday 2 June.
