Diocesan Synod Begins In Cologne

The annual Synod of the Diocese in Europe is underway in the German city of Cologne.

“We have a Gospel to proclaim” sang the congregation at the opening Eucharist of Synod and, in his sermon, Bishop David reminded members that the word Synod implies our Christian progress on a journey along the way.

In the first formal session of this year’s Synod delegates were able to welcome the new diocesan bishop designate, Canon Robert Innes, who was there with his wife, Helen. He spoke about his consecration as a bishop, in July and asked for prayer support for his new work
