Cross Border Remembrance Event In Northern Italy

Archdeacon Jonathan Boardman, who is Chaplain of All Saints' Anglican Church Rome travelled North for a Remembrance service at Bordighera at the First World War cemetery.

He writes; “There were reps from the local Catholic, Waldensian, Russian and Romanian Orthodox churches as well as me leading the ceremony with Fr David Hart, Chaplain of St John's Menton (across the border in France), and the locum from Genova, Fr Peter Wright.

“The community which organises this annually calls itself the Cross-Border since they meet in Italy but are served with a eucharist once a month in the English Cemetery Chapel from Menton. The mayor of Bordighera and commandant of police attended the ceremony and lunch and are very supportive of the community.”
