Diocesan Vision On The Agenda

Members of Bishop’s Council meeting in London (Thursday and Friday 22/23 October) have given enthusiastic support to the Strategic Development plan for the Diocese.

Bishop Robert introduced the revised document and members of Council (who represent just over half the membership of Diocesan Synod) discussed the practicalities and priorities, including encouraging lay discipleship (with aids such as the Pilgrim Course), church planting, skills and information sharing, ministry to youth, interim ministry and the challenge of ministry to migrants in Europe.

In another session of Bishop’s Council Ian Carter, Interim Safeguarding Manager (pictured below) and Consultant reported on developments in safeguarding training and progress on a revised safeguarding protocol/policy which it is hoped will be published before the end of this year.

Friday’s session of Bishop’s Council concentrates on the wherewithal for mission at a meeting of the Diocesan Board of Finance.
