Seeing Ourselves As God’s Migrant People

Bishop David encouraged the Friends of the Diocese at their annual Eucharist in London during his sermon highlighting our hope and vision for the future. He drew a parallel with the attention given to migrants when most people in our congregations should see themselves as migrant people. He said “Today our migrant diocese is made up of people from every continent, also here for business, to study, to retire, to join family, and increasingly refugees fleeing conditions of war and persecution, hardship and poverty.”

The event at St Matthew’s, Westminster, on Wednesday 21 October also included formal welcomes and commissioning for Archdeacon Colin Williams and two new honorary Assistant Bishops, Harold Rein, Bishop of the Old Catholic Church in Switzerland and Norman Banks, Bishop of Richborough.
