Life events
The church can play a part in some of the most significant moments in our lives. Our chaplaincies offer not just special services but prayers, guidance and support at those times.
We can provide advice and support if you are looking to get married in one of our churches. We offer baptism and christening services for infants and baptism and confirmation for those who have come to faith.
We are also here in times of loss and grief, providing funeral services and support for the bereaved.
Significant events can often make us think about some of the bigger issues of life and death. For example, if you are getting married, it might encourage you to grapple with an issue you have been putting off such as patching up a damaged relationship or telling a close family member that you love them.
Similarly, if you know that you are dying, it might make you want to talk to someone about questions you have pushed away such as: “Is there a God?” or ‘What happens when we die?” To explore more on this, take a look at our pages on spiritual direction and faith, or talk to someone at your local chaplaincy.
