Advent Appeal bears fruit
Bishop Robert’s Advent appeal has been a huge success. It aimed to support the work of The Joel Nafuma Refugee Centre in Rome.
Annika Stanley of the Centre writes, “The Joel Nafuma Refugee Centre and St Paul's Within the Walls church in Rome wish to share their deep appreciation for all the efforts that our sister churches made during Advent to collect for our refugee ministry.
The money you collected will allow us to serve at least 10,000 breakfasts, and provide essential items such as sleeping bags, socks and underwear and toiletries for approximately 6,000 guests in the next six months.
The humanitarian services and warm welcome our guests find at JNRC makes the difference between our guests feeling like human beings worthy of love and care, rather than isolated, cold and alone on the streets. We could not do this without the generosity of our donors, so we offer our profound thanks.”
Bishop Robert added his thanks. “I am delighted that such a large sum was raised for my appeal. I am grateful to all who made individual donations or helped run events which generated this magnificent amount.”
