It is with great sadness that we heard of the death this weekend of Revd Canon Geoffrey Johnston.  He was 80 and had served as a priest for 55 years.

Geoff was a wonderfully faithful servant of the Diocese in Europe initially as the Chaplain in Nerja from 2008-2014 and then as Archdeacon of Gibraltar for six years, and also briefly as Archdeacon of Italy and Malta. After he finished as an Archdeacon and an Assistant DDO he continued to serve as a locum in a number of places in the diocese and was planning more stints this year.  Geoff was loved across the diocese and will be remembered for his pastoral kindness, good humour, sharp intelligence and wisdom.

Our prayers are with his wife Carol, his children Christopher and Rebecca and all those who loved him.
