The Archdeaconry of the East is one of the most far-flung regions of our Diocese, making it often difficult for Clergy, Readers, and others in leadership roles to stay in touch. 
 
As Area Dean in Central Europe, the Revd Dr. Frank Hegedűs, Chaplain in Budapest, gathers together Clergy, Licenced Readers, and others from across the central area of the Archdeaconry for a monthly online meeting or Chapter, which includes prayer together, discussion and mutual support. 
 
“Praying together and sharing news from our Chaplaincies is important,” notes Father Frank. “Zoom, for all its faults, has made it possible for us to build community and support each other online during these still difficult times.”
 
Each Chapter session includes a featured speaker.  Over the past couple years, the group has heard from Bishop Robert, Archdeacon Leslie Nathaniel, various members of Diocesan staff, theologians, and others with unique expertise.
 
Chaplains, Clergy, and Readers from the Czech Republic, Austria, Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, Poland, and Serbia are regular participants.
