Clergy Induction Days moved to January
The next Clergy Induction Days for clergy new to the Diocese in Europe have been put back to January. They were due take place late last month but will now be over Zoom on 9 and 10 January.
The Induction Days, which take place once a year, are provided for clergy arriving to take up posts in the diocese from other provinces in the Anglican Communion or from other dioceses within the Church of England. Participants are invited to attend by Bishop David. At least 19 new clergy are expected to take part in January but that figure could rise. The days are organised by Revd Canon Ulla Monberg, the Diocesan Director of Ministerial Development, who is also one of the facilitators.
"The purpose of the Clergy Induction is both to provide an introduction to the diocese and to give information about working in the Diocese in Europe, specifically addressing areas of governance, legal and organisational structures which in significant ways differ from the rest of the Church of England and from other Provinces of the Anglican Communion," Revd Canon Monberg explained.
The other facilitators include both bishops, the Diocesan Secretary, the Registrar, the Archdeacons of Gibraltar, and Italy & Malta, the Head of Safeguarding, and the Director of Communication.
