European Anglicans: Spring 2024
This edition of European Anglicans focuses on mission and growth and is published in Holy Week, bringing together all the reasons why we exist and do what we do in the Diocese in Europe. The story of Holy Week and Easter is one of darkness into light, of despair into hope and the triumph of good over evil.
The examples we have of work in Vienna, in the Netherlands, in Ibiza and in Marseille are of growth achieved in radically different circumstances. They are also born out of a huge range of theological and liturgical traditions but all seeking the same outcome – to share the good news encapsulated in the journey of Holy Week and the glory of Easter.
One other moment of moving from darkness into light in this edition is the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the ordination of women in the Church of England. We are blessed with a brilliant and growing cohort of women clergy in the diocese. We look forward to there being more. Here we join with Revd Canon Ulla Monberg the Director of Ministerial Development who was one of the first women ordained in the Church of England in a delightful conversation with Revd Annie Bolger one of our most recently ordained priests, along with other women from across the diocese.
We hope you enjoy this edition of European Anglicans. If you do, please share it with 3 friends who may not have had the chance to read it or find out about it.
Easter blessings!
