Exploring faith in Europe latest
In the latest in the weekly Exploring faith in Europe series based on Lectionary passages, Bishop David draws on his experience to reflect on the history and meaning of the Feast of Epiphany, and the varied ways that it is celebrated in the countries of our diocese.
In his piece, ‘Epiphany: The boundless limits of the love of God’, Bishop David discusses the significance of Epiphany (Greek epiphaneia – manifestation, appearance, or showing forth) aspossibly the oldest festival in the Christian calendar, after Easter. He explores the richness of Epiphany traditions throughout the countries in our diocese. He tells us that, as we prepare for Epiphany this Sunday (6th January), the celebration of the arrival of wise men from the East represent a new beginning for humanity.
