Bishop Robert says:
“General Synod is one of the Church of England’s main decision-making bodies, bringing together clergy and lay people across all dioceses and parts of the national Church. It discusses key topics and makes laws that affect our life together. I cannot think of a time when determining the right priorities and actions for our Church has been more important, and it is vital that the unique voice of our Diocese in Europe is heard. For example climate care, racial justice, refugees and migration are all concerns where we bring a distinctively European perspective and where we are contributing actively as a diocese.
I warmly encourage people right across our diocese to consider standing for election to represent us! Members of General Synod are elected for 5 year terms, and you can find out more information at this link: General Synod Election Information 2021.
If you would like to find out more about standing, contact the Diocesan Secretary, andrew.caspari@churchofengland.org and copy your message to election@europe.anglican.org."
