The nominations for the election of three members of the House of Laity and three proctors in the convocation of the Province of Canterbury, to represent the Diocese in General Synod, should be submitted by 16:00 BST on Wednesday 1st September. 

Nominations of candidates duly proposed and seconded together with the consent of each candidate to serve should be submitted on the Election Portal by 16.00 BST on Wednesday 1st September

“General Synod is one of the Church of England’s main decision-making bodies, bringing together clergy and lay people across all dioceses and parts of the national Church. It discusses key topics and makes laws that affect our life together. I cannot think of a time when determining the right priorities and actions for our Church has been more important, and it is vital that the unique voice of our Diocese in Europe is heard. For example climate care, racial justice, refugees and migration are all concerns where we bring a distinctively European perspective and where we are contributing actively as a diocese.
