The Reverend Andrew McMullon passed away suddenly on 30 June 2023. After serving churches in the UK and in the RAF, he and his wife, Lorraine, arrived in Ieper (Ypres, Belgium) in 2020 in the midst of the covid-19 pandemic. Andy, or simply 'Padre', quickly became a beloved figure in the community.

Sadly, Lorraine died unexpectedly in 2021. In November 2022, Andrew retired from parish ministry. Appropriately, one of his last services was on Armistice Day.

Shortly before leaving Belgium, Andrew met Gina through their shared interest in nature and photography. They fell in love and were civilly married at the beginning of June 2023. Tragically, just a few short weeks later, while Andrew was making plans their home together in Sedbergh, he died.

We offer our condolences to Gina, his 4 children - Sarah, Rebekah, Daniel & Rachel and his grandchildren whom he adored. We give thanks to God for the ministry and friendship he offered while he was in the Diocese. May he rest in Christ's peace and rise with Him in glory.
