Reflections on the Racial Justice Conference
Our Racial Justice conference was held from the 4th – 7th December at the Evangelische Akademie Bad Boll, near Stuttgart in Germany. An incredible programme of speakers spoke on, ‘ALL of us or NONE of us; Redesigning the ecumenical and inter-faith landscape for a racially just, holistically healthy and radically inclusive community.’ People joined from across our diocese and beyond, including members of other faiths and traditions. We heard inspiring and deeply thought-provoking talks, participated in discussions, and enjoyed fellowship.
The Ven. Archdeacon Leslie Nathanial, Chair of the Racial Justice Working Group of the Diocese in Europe shared:
Our theme 'All of us or none of us' acts as a compelling call for greater belonging and healing - a new identity, that no-one is a stranger.
We were all motivated by our first Racial Justice Conference last year, the ripples of which continue across many parts of Europe and the world. In this follow-up conference, we took our agenda further on our ongoing journey, and sought to be a significant contribution to redesigning the ecumenical and interfaith landscape for a radically just, radically inclusive and healing community.'
Bishop Robert, who gave a talk and led worship, stated:
Racial Justice is a vitally important topic, I was delighted to be present at this vibrant and stimulating event
