Save the Valletta Skyline Appeal
A full programme of events continues the effort to raise funds in support of the ‘Save the Valletta Skyline Appeal’ for the Restoration of St Paul’s Anglican Cathedral in Malta. These are all part of the InSpire series of talks and events, being organised in the UK in support of the €8 million appeal.
Joanna Oswin, Chairman of the UK Events Committee tells us more:
James Holland, the celebrated historian, author and broadcaster gave an outstanding talk on his book "Fortress Malta: An Island Under Siege (1940-42)" to an invited audience at the Royal Air Force Club in London’s Piccadilly on 17th September. It was a great gathering of so many interesting people from different disciplines and backgrounds all with a common love of Malta. The talk concentrated on the extraordinary drama of Malta’s victory against impossible odds in the second World War, when more explosives were dropped on this tiny Mediterranean island in March and April 1942, than on the whole of Britain during the Blitz.
A range of other events are planned for the rest of 2019 and 2020. You can see what’s coming up below, and a link to the UK programme is attached with more details:
