Twenty members of clergy and laity from across the Diocese came together for a four day  training session of the Diocesan Course on Spiritual Direction recently. The residential course took place at St. Columba’s House, Woking. For part of the time they were joined by the Spiritual Directors in the Diocese, who gathered for an annual residential meeting.

The guest speaker was the Canon Mark Oakley, Chancellor of St. Paul’s Cathedral who has written extensively on matters of faith, including “The Splash of Words; Believing in Poetry” published in 2016.  Mark knows our Diocese well, having been a former Chaplain of St. Alban’s Church Copenhagen and Archdeacon of Germany and Northern Europe.

The course was led by the Revd Dr Mark Godson, Canon John Newsome, Diocesan Advisor on Spirituality (and Area Dean of Germany) and Canon Ulla Monberg, Diocesan Director of Ministerial Development.
