Bishop Robert explored what would be needed if the Christian churches were to be able to answer the appeal originally made by Jacques Delors, former European Commission President, in the 1990s.  In this Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, Bishop Robert’s speech explored the role and position of Anglicanism in Europe, and its contribution to Christian ecumenism, from historical and contemporary perspectives.
