Bishop Robert has joined the People’s March through London to call for a second referendum on Brexit.

Organisers estimated around 1 million people turned out for the march through central London, which was addressed by politicians across parties and shades of opinion, including Tom Watson, Nicola Sturgeon, London Mayor Sadiq Khan, Anna Soubry and former Attorney General, Dominic Grieve.

Bishop Robert tweeted:

“Proud to be taking part in the #PeoplesMarch in London. A strikingly youthful, peaceful and hopeful event.”

He was also joined on the March by Duncan Dormor from our close mission partners at USPG Global (pictured).

On 22 March, EU27 leaders agreed to grant the UK an extension of Article 50 to 22 May, if Theresa May’s deal secures approval at the third attempt at Westminster. 

However, the PM has written to all MPs suggesting there may be no third vote in Parliament on her deal, if it is unlikely to go through. If it does not, the UK has until 12 April to propose a revised plan to the EU, or leave the Union.

Meanwhile signatures to a petition to Parliament calling for a second vote now exceed 4 million.
