Consecration of our Suffragan Bishop in Europe

Bishop Andrew was consecrated by the Archbishop of York yesterday at Canterbury Cathedral. The packed cathedral had a wonderful atmosphere of celebration and unity. As the procession arrived, the service began with this hymn:
'Let us build a house
where love can dwell
and all can safely live,
a place where saints and children tell
how hearts learn to forgive.
Built of hope and dreams and visions,
rock of faith and vault of grace;
Here, the love of Christ shall end divisions:
All are welcome, all are welcome,
all are welcome in this place.'
The Gathering and Presentation (words Marty Haugen, Tune Two Oaks)
Dr Jane Williams (McDonald Professor in Christian Theology, St Mellitus College) preached and spoke of the continued support we should all give the Bishops:
"Please don't stop taking care of them. They will continue to need you to be kind and truthful."

Bishop Andrews's wife, Amanda Norman, read the New Testament reading, which was from Revelation 19, 5-9.
The newly consecrated bishop's left to rapturous applause. You can watch a recording of the live stream on THIS LINK.
