New Appointment as Bishop’s Visitor
We warmly welcome Mrs Toni Gibbs to the Diocese in Europe, who has been appointed as the Bishop’s Visitor.
The role of the Bishop’s Visitor is to support a clergy spouse/partner in the event of a clergy marriage facing difficulties or coming to an end for any reason. The role is to support, help identify needs and provide pointers to ways of meeting those needs. Toni has experience of life in the Diocese in Europe, having lived for six years in Basel, where her husband was Chaplain. After returning to the UK, she has been involved in supporting families via the Home-Start family support charity.
In appointing Toni, Bishop Robert said “Bishops’ Visitors have an important role in the event of a clergy marriage breakdown. I am pleased that Toni is willing to take on this role for us, whilst very much hoping that we will seldom need to call upon her skills.”
