We're going (more!) digital in the Diocese with another series of social media training sessions.  As we did last year, Diocesan comms is offering free webinars.  Training will run between 18 November and 2 December.

With so much of Church now online due to covid-19, we will look at different ways your church can use digital communications to keep connected with those who participate in your services and events, as well as reaching out and caring for those in the local community around you. 

You'll learn how to engage well on social media in the Church context, brush up your knowledge with some hints and tips, write high quality content with impact, and get the most of a Church Near You!   You'll also know how to measure the impact of shares, likes and retweets, and pick up hints and tips to optimise social media platforms. This is a fantastic opportunity to master social media and grow the online presence of your church. 

This year, we'll also cover working on Zoom.

Course content and information:

All sessions (on Wednesdays and Fridays) will run 1500-1630 CET

18 November – Introduction to social media and Guide to using Zoom 

20 November – A Church Near You

25 November – Facebook

27 November – Twitter & Instagram

The trainer for these sessions will be Amber Jackson. Amber led social media training for the Diocese last year and supports us with our digital communications.

In addition, on 2 December, Damian and Amber will run a session on Social media planning for your chaplaincy.

You can sign up to just a single session, or for multiple sessions. The training will be delivered online to meet the needs of people across the Diocese, with plenty of opportunity to ask questions.

There are 30 places available in each session, so don’t delay in signing up!  Depending on demand, we will run further training sessions in 2021.
