'True Freedom' - a new multilingual Lent resource launched
A new, six-week Lent course helping churches respond to modern slavery has been launched available in five languages.
The Church of England, through its initiative against modern slavery, The Clewer Initiative (TCI), has partnered with the World Council of Churches (WCC) to launch a comprehensive Lent resource, now available in four European languages. True Freedom, a six-week Lenten course, draws on themes from the book of Galatians, and encourages individuals and churches to respond to modern slavery in their communities. It is now available in English, German, French, Spanish and Dutch.
Caireen Warren, our Diocesan representative of The Clewer Initiative said: “This amazing resource includes biblical reflections, case studies, victim stories, prayers, group discussion questions, artwork for contemplation and much more." She emphasised its practicality and potential impact in raising awareness and fostering meaningful engagement with the issue of modern slavery."
The Lent resource, accessible for free on their website, is now available in English, French, Spanish, German, and Dutch, catering to a diverse audience across Europe. It offers six weeks’ worth of material, drawing on themes from the book of Galatians, and encouraging individuals and churches to respond to modern slavery in their communities.
A webinar was recently held to provide guidance on utilising the resource effectively. The recording of the webinar is available on YouTube here.
For those keen on promoting the resource through social media, a series of assets have been made available, with additional translations into French, Spanish, German, and Dutch. These assets can be accessed here.
