We were very sorry to learn of the death of The Reverend Paul Goodridge, who was priest in charge and then Chaplain of the Church of the Resurrection, Bucharest from 2015 to 2019. 

Paul had been rector of St. Nicholas, Godstone, before relocating to Bulgaria with his wife, Rumyana. Paul was a faithful priest, who commuted two hours each way each weekend to Bucharest from his wife’s village in Bulgaria. 

Paul is remembered by the Bucharest congregation and by clergy colleagues as a humble, kind and warm-hearted pastor and friend. His funeral takes place today. 

We pray for his wife and wider family in their loss. 

May he rest in peace and rise in glory.
