Unveiling day one: Exploring our past at the Racial Justice Conference in Freiberg, Germany
Join us at our Racial Justice conference on 8 -11 November in Freiberg, Germany.
Today we take a closer look at day one of the conference - grieving the past.
Each day of the conference begins with a meaningful Bible study and concludes with a collective worship activity.
In order to shape our future, it's essential to confront our history. Our journey begins by welcoming the esteemed Fr. Michael Lapsley SSM, President of the Healing of Memories Global Network, who will share insights about the colonial past and its relevance today.
Revd Godfrey Adera, a young Anglican Priest from Kenya, Dr. Masiiwa Gunda, WCC Programme Executive for Overcoming Racism, and Dr. Clementine Nishimwe, a young leader from Rwanda who focuses on migration and race, will contribute their perspectives on prevailing historical narratives.
Later in the day, we'll have the opportunity to engage in small breakout groups. Here, we'll delve into meaningful conversations, drawing wisdom from each other's journeys and sharing our personal narratives.
